    Open WhatsApp, Linked devices, scan. It is the same link WhatsApp Web uses. Nothing to install on the phone, nothing for the children to do.

    Choose the school groups

    Only the groups you choose are read. Every other chat stays metadata only: its messages never leave your phone.

  3. Step 3

    Match them to your kids

    Bart's class group goes to Bart, Lisa's to Lisa. From then on every task, notice and event lands on the right child.

From then on, you don't need to keep checking the groups.

Questions parents ask first.

I already read the groups myself. Why would I need it?

You shouldn't have to read 100 messages to find the 5 that matter. ClassCal finds those five, turns them into tasks and calendar entries, and answers questions about them later, so reading the groups becomes optional.

Is this safe? Who can see my chats?

You. ClassCal reads only the groups you choose, stores them in your own private account, and the database refuses every other account access to a single row. Nobody at ClassCal reads your groups to make the product work.

Does it post or reply in my groups?

No. It is read-only. It never sends, replies, reacts or marks anything as read on your behalf.

Can other parents or the teacher tell it is connected?

No. ClassCal appears as a linked device on your own WhatsApp, the same way WhatsApp Web does. Nothing changes inside the group.

Does my phone need to be on?

It uses WhatsApp's multi-device linking, so it keeps working while your phone is off or out of reach, as long as the phone has been online in the last couple of weeks. If ClassCal itself is paused, WhatsApp delivers the queued messages when it comes back.

What do I need to install, and how technical is it?

One line pasted into Terminal (Mac) or PowerShell (Windows) on a computer at home, then a QR scan from your phone, the same as WhatsApp Web. About ten minutes; the app walks you through it step by step at Settings, Connect WhatsApp after you sign in, and shows live status as the helper installs. A hosted option with nothing to run at home is planned. Open Connect WhatsApp (after sign-in)

Which chats does it read?

Only the groups you switch on. Every other chat is metadata only: ClassCal sees that a chat exists and when it was last active, and its messages never leave your phone. Add or remove a group at any time.

What happens to my data, and can I delete it?

Messages, translations and items live in a private Supabase-hosted database, locked to your account by row-level security; photos and files sit in private storage behind short-lived links. Raw messages expire after 90 days by default. To delete everything, write to us and it is removed; a delete button in Settings is on the list.

Which languages does it work with?

Hebrew to English today, which is what founding families use every day. Hebrew to French and Hebrew to Russian are coming soon. English groups work as they are, with the sorting, calendar and assistant doing the same work.

How accurate is it? Can it make things up?

Every task, event and answer links to the message it came from, with the exact words highlighted. Dates, times, amounts and places that cannot be quoted from a message are dropped rather than guessed, and when the groups have not said something, the answer says so. If an item is still wrong, flag it: flagged items stay fixed.

What does it cost?

Nothing while you are a founding family. Pricing will be set before the public launch, and founding families hear about it first.

Does it work for kindergarten and gan groups as well as school?

Yes. Any WhatsApp group works: gan, school, after-school activities, the parents' committee. Give each group to a child and its items land on that child.

Can both parents use it?

One account per family today. Shared access for a second parent is planned.

Can I turn it off?

Yes, at any time. Switch a group off in Settings, or remove the linked device from WhatsApp, Linked devices, and ClassCal stops reading at once.
